Strategy Analytics: Vivo Is The Second-Fastest-Growing 5G Smartphone Brand In Q1 2021

According to the latest data from research firm Strategy Analytics, vivo recorded the second-fastest 5G smartphone growth in Q1 of 2021.

vivo continues to be a leader in 5G

In particular, vivo achieved a quarter-on-quarter growth rate of 62 percent with 19 million units shipped. The company shared that its presence in China and Europe resulted in this success.

In a press release, vivo said that the company continues to be a strong advocate of 5G development and the brand has made 5G standards and core technologies. The merk also stressed that it is committed to providing users with a growing range of 5G mobile phones and an improved 5G experience.

Among the top 5 vendors, Samsung recorded the most growth in the quarter with 79 percent. As mentioned, vivo is number 2 with 62 percent growth followed by sibling OPPO with 55 percent growth. Apple and Xiaomi grew negatively during the quarter with minus 23 percent and 28 percent growth, respectively.

For the Global 5G Smartphone Vendor Shipments, Apple is still on top followed by OPPO, vivo, Samsung, and Xiaomi.
